MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL AND PEOPLE MAGAZINE ANNOUNCE WINDERMERE RESIDENT BILL CRISWELL IS A “PEOPLE ALL STAR AMONG US” RECIPIENT Major League Baseball and PEOPLE magazine announced the recipients of their “All-Stars Among Us” campaign, which recognizes individuals who are serving their communities in extraordinary ways. Bill Criswell of Windermere Florida will represent the Tampa Bay Rays and will be honored during the pre-game ceremony of the All-Star Game on July 13 on FOX beginning at 8:00 PM ET. Mr. Criswell is one of only 30 people across the nation to receive this honor and over 1.7 million people across the nation voted for this year’s recipients. “Major League Baseball is privileged to recognize this team of ‘All-Stars’ whose selfless and tireless work is making a significant impact within communities across the nation,” said Baseball Commissioner Allan H. (Bud) Selig. “Together with PEOPLE magazine, we look forward to using the All-Star Game, the premiere sporting event of the summer, as a platform to honor these 30 winners and their worthy causes.” Bill Criswell established Home at Last to give U.S. soldiers injured in Iraq and Afghanistan a fresh start in life by giving them mortgage-free homes. Thus far, two homes have been completed with construction on a third beginning July 1. As project chairman, Bill organizes and coordinates the fundraising, candidate’s application process, construction team, media coverage, dedication ceremony, and the closing for the family.
